Clinical Psychologist

Overview

Clinical Psychologists in Nellore District provide professional mental health services across hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation centers, schools, NGOs, and wellness facilities. They assess, diagnose, and treat emotional, behavioral, and psychological disorders, helping individuals improve their mental well-being and quality of life.

This role requires strong analytical skills, empathy, and a deep understanding of therapeutic practices.


Key Responsibilities

Assessment & Diagnosis

  • Conduct psychological assessments using standardized tools and diagnostic tests.
  • Evaluate mental, emotional, behavioral, and developmental conditions.
  • Identify disorders such as anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, behavioral issues, and learning difficulties.
  • Develop psychological case histories and diagnostic reports.

Therapeutic Intervention

  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions.
  • Deliver evidence-based therapies such as:
    • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
    • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
    • Behavioral Therapy
    • Trauma-focused therapy
    • Play Therapy / Child-focused therapies
  • Create personalized treatment plans based on client needs.
  • Track client progress and modify treatment plans as necessary.

Crisis Management

  • Provide immediate support during psychological emergencies.
  • Handle cases of emotional distress, self-harm tendencies, or trauma.
  • Coordinate with psychiatrists for urgent medical intervention when needed.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain confidential patient records and therapy notes.
  • Prepare progress reports, assessments, and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with doctors, counselors, teachers, or social workers when required.

Training & Awareness

  • Conduct mental health awareness sessions in schools, colleges, and organizations.
  • Guide parents, caregivers, or teachers on handling behavioral issues.
  • Support community outreach programs related to mental health.

Qualifications Required

Education

  • M.Phil in Clinical Psychology (RCI recognized) or
  • M.A/M.Sc. Psychology with relevant clinical experience
  • Preferably registered with the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI)

Experience

  • 1–3 years of experience in clinical or counseling settings preferred.
  • Freshers with clinical internship experience may also apply.

  • Strong understanding of psychological theories and therapeutic methods.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and non-judgmental attitude.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and ethical standards.
  • Good documentation, case-handling, and crisis-intervention skills.
  • Ability to communicate in Telugu and English.

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary range in Nellore: ₹20,000 – ₹50,000 per month based on qualifications and experience.
