Hospital Receptionist

Overview

Hospitals and healthcare centers across Nellore District are seeking dedicated and friendly Receptionists to serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors. The role is vital in ensuring smooth communication, efficient patient registration, and excellent customer service within the healthcare environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Front Desk Operations
    • Greet patients, visitors, and attendants warmly and professionally.
    • Manage patient check-ins and check-outs efficiently.
    • Handle appointment scheduling, cancellations, and rescheduling.
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization at the reception area.
  • Patient Registration & Records
    • Collect and verify patient details such as name, contact information, and medical history.
    • Enter data accurately into the hospital management system.
    • Maintain patient files, registration forms, and reports securely.
  • Communication & Coordination
    • Answer phone calls, respond to patient queries, and direct calls to the appropriate departments.
    • Coordinate between doctors, nurses, diagnostic departments, and billing staff for smooth patient service.
    • Assist emergency cases by promptly alerting the concerned medical staff.
  • Billing & Payment Support
    • Guide patients through billing, payment, and insurance claim processes.
    • Generate invoices and receipts accurately.
    • Maintain daily cash and transaction records.
  • Customer Care
    • Ensure patient comfort while waiting and provide information regarding hospital facilities.
    • Handle complaints or queries politely and escalate them when needed.
    • Support patients with directions, paperwork, or online form filling.

Qualifications Required

  • Educational:
    • Minimum: 10+2 (Intermediate) from a recognized board.
    • Preferred: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Hospital Administration / Healthcare Management / Any stream.
  • Experience:
    • Prior experience as a receptionist, front office assistant, or customer service executive (especially in hospitals or clinics) is preferred.
    • Fresher candidates with good communication and computer skills may also apply.

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent communication skills in English and Telugu.
  • Friendly and professional attitude with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge (MS Office, email, hospital software).
  • Ability to multitask and handle pressure in busy hospital environments.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
  • Empathy and patience while dealing with patients and attendants.

Work Environment

  • Roles available in government hospitals, private hospitals, and diagnostic centers across Nellore District.
  • Shift-based work may be required, including morning, evening, or night shifts depending on hospital timings.
  • The role involves regular interaction with patients, doctors, and administrative staff.

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary: ₹12,000 – ₹20,000 per month (depending on hospital and experience).
