Maha Shivaratri is celebrated with great devotion in Nellore’s ancient Shiva temples, such as Jonnawada Kamakshi Devi Temple, Ravuru Temple, and Kasumuru Temple. Devotees fast, chant hymns, and stay awake all night performing abhishekams (ritual bath) to Lord Shiva with milk and honey.
The air is filled with chants of “Om Namah Shivaya,” creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere. Cultural programs like devotional music and bhajans continue throughout the night.
