Sri V.S. Sivalingam Chettiar Government Degree College in Sullurupeta, Nellore district, Andhra Pradesh, was established in December 1981 to serve the higher education needs of the economically and socially weaker sections of the community. Founded with donations from the philanthropist Sri V.S. Sivalingam Chettiar, the college started with limited offerings in B.A. and B.Com courses and later expanded to include science groups in 1992. Today, it offers six undergraduate and two postgraduate programs.
