(Sri Poleramma Vari Temple) in Venkatagiri is a famous temple dedicated to Goddess Poleramma, widely revered as the protector deity of the town. The temple has a rich history dating back to 1919 AD when the Venkatagiri Raja performed a seethala Yagam and installed Astadhigbhandana Yantras to protect the town from a cholera epidemic. Following this, the Raja started the annual Poleramma Jathara (festival), which has been celebrated by devotees every year since then.
